The Filmic Productions application OPENS on August 20th, 2025.

Applications ARE DUE by 11:59pm on September 9th, 2025. No late submissions will be accepted.

Just about anything! This is a chance for you to share something with us that best captures you as a creative. It could be a short film, a script, a picture, a drawing, even a speech! We do want your creative submission to reflect what role team you most prioritize. For example, if you are looking to be a writer, show us some writing! If you want to be a DP, let’s see how you can compose a shot and tell a story with a camera. Want to be an editor? You better bet we are looking to see if you have an eye for color, transitions, and flow! Art Director? The possibilities are endless! Storyboards, art work, set design, costumes, how can you turn a good film into a great one with art direction? Sound engineer? Show us something you’ve composed, an instrument you can play, your producing style. Producer? Tie it all together, show us examples of project management, how you turn an idea into a full fledged film. Some of our producers submit videos they’ve shot and edited themself while some submit scripts or storyboards. We want to know if you have an eye for film and storytelling while also having the organizational capabilities to keep a project moving and work with a client.

After you submit your application, our recruitment team will review your materials and notify you in the following weeks whether or not have been selected to move to the next application round. The next (and final) round involves an interview and a creative case.

We are looking for creatives who care. There is no perfect recipe or level of experience for a Filmic applicant. Our club is made out of  people from every corner of campus with the commonality that they show up and love to tell stories.

The Filmic mass meeting will be held in the Helmut Stern Auditorium in the basement of the UMMA at 7pm on Wednesday, September 3rd.  The mass meeting will be from 7-8pm and the social hour will be from 8-9pm.

Nope! The mass meeting/social hour is not mandatory but a great opportunity to meet the members in person, learn more about the club, and get any questions answered.
